BB...
I have 2 computers running XP Pro and they both have Zone Alarm Pro
ver. 6.1.744 and I use Windows firewall.

Whatcher?...
Unless you told ZAP not to tuen off XP firewall, no you dont use both.

But when I turn the computer on and it loads everything up, when it loads
Zone Alarm it turns the Windows firewall off and I have to manually turn it
back on from the control panel.

Whatcher?...
Dont do that.

TyBreaker...
I think you'll find you can only run one software firewall at a time
which is why ZoneAlarm is clever enough to turn off the Microsoft one.
Software firewalls are not like anti-virus where running multiple
packages on one PC may add to your protection. Usually, if you want
multiple firewalls, you have them running in series on separate devices.

Is there anyway to stop Zone Alarm from turning the firewall off on start up
so I don't have to keep resetting it.

Why do you want to turn Windows f/w back on, anyway? I would've
thought the whole point of paying for a third-party f/w is to avoid
having to use that Windows component.

(BTW, it's not uncommon for t/p f/w software to turn off the Windows
option - my PcCillin hates it with a vengeance).

Thanks BB

Whatcher?...
You don't want to do that. When you shut ZAP off, Windows firewall is back
on.
