MPEG editing - audio distortion?

pojak99...
I've produced a series of MPEG2-files: file1 --> file2 --> file3 -->
file4 -->
file5. File2 was produced with "make movie, make MPEG-file" in Pinnacle
Studio 8, based on file1. File3 was based on file2 and so on. You can
hear
a small difference in audio quality between file1 and file5 (the last).
The difference in audio quality between file1 and file2 is very small.
Do you know if it's possible to get rid of the distortion completely?

Ken Maltby...
But why, after you went to so much trouble to create the
distortion. Making a copy of a copy 4 times, especially in
an editor like Pinnacle is not too bright.

pojak99...
Certainly, I wouldn't normally make a copy of the 4:th order.
This was just for testing purposes: I'd like to know if each
"make movie"-step added some distortion. It seems that each
step adds a small, but very small, amount of distortion.
Right now I consider the distortion so small that I'll ignore
it.

Best regards.

I used MPEG Layer-2 16-bit stereo, 48 kHz sample rate, 224 kbit/s. It
is
possible to increase the bit rate.

Best regards!

Ken Maltby...
Not that interesting, and very out of date. He doesn't even
mention VideoReDo. He mentions Womble's MPEG Wizard
but later says you have to convert your video to AVI before
you can add titles. It looks like he never even tried the program.

Luck;
Ken
