At the moment im using two NEC 20" (4:3) LCD monitors together as one big
desktop. They are running at 1280 x 1024 on a Matrox 450 card. Im using the

Bucky...
wouldn't that be 5:4 ratio?

H20...
no, each one is 4:3

steveroberts...
1280 x 1024 is a 5:4 ratio. If you are running 4:3 LCD monitors at
that resolution, then the monitors cannot be running at their native
resolution and so you must be compromising the image quality.

LCD monitors with a native resolution of 1280 x 1024 have an aspect
ratio of 5:4. Get a tape measure out if you don't believe me! :)

Hi Steve
You are indeed correct, appolagies.

two monitors for Vegas editing and previewing from Vegas to a Sony TV via a
canopus ADVC100.

Ide like to upgrade my current setup and heres what id like to try to
achieve.

The same or more desktop workspace.
The ability to plug my Sony HC1 into one of the monitors and playback
directly in HD.
The ability to play back to one of the monitors in HD from Vegas's timeline.
(if i go the 2 monitor route)

Ive been looking at either, two 22" (16:9) monitors, a single Dell 30"
monitor or a single 32" LCD screen.

Any suggestions on my options and info on what others are running and the
best way to achieve what id like to do is appreciated.
