I have a Canon ZR-85 DV cam and when I capture video I can't get the
datacode/Date and time to appear on the video file. How can I do this?
I had to convert a DV tape to VHS (Ugh, I know) and I was able to just
hit the data code button on the camer and viola! It was there. The
same thing does not happen with using Firewire.
Is there a setting in Movie Maker I should know about?
The same thing happened when I used Media Encoder too.

The timecode data is there, but just not "burned in" to
the image. There are software apps that will burn the
TC into the DV image.

Gotcha.

You wouldn't happen to know of anything for linux?

Richard Crowley...
I believe there are therapy groups for such self-abuse.

Not a Linux fan?
I downloaded the WIndows utilities and they work fine.
But as an ongoing project I always want to do everything I do on the
WIndows machine on the Mandriva machine as well. ;)

There's also DVdate (and a number of other free apps) at
